Daniel Priehs, DVM, DACVO

Dr. Priehs received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University in 1984.  Dr. Priehs was awarded a year long internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital, a large specialty hospital in the New York City area.  After completing his internship, Dr. Priehs remained on their clinical faculty where he studied with the vet ophthalmologist at the Animal Medical Center, New York City for 2 years. In 1987 Dr. Priehs began his two-year residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Gainesville and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 1991. Dr Priehs has authored numerous ophthalmology articles, and text book chapters. His professional interests include intraocular surgery and exotic animal ophthalmology.  Dr. Priehs is active in local and state organized veterinary medicine and at a national level in the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.  He generously donates his professional services to the Canine Companions for Independence organization and to Audubon Center for Birds of Prey.  His personal interests include spending time with his family, wife Carla, children Bethany, Buddy, Sam and Lily.  Dr Priehs is also an avid golfer.


Heidi Denis, DVM, DACVO
Diplomate ACVO

Dr. Denis received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 1997.  After completing a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Michigan State University, she returned in 1998 to the University of Florida for a residency in Comparative Ophthalmology. Dr. Denis became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2001. She has served on the ACVO Examination Committee, responsible for evaluation of candidates seeking ACVO diplomate status.  Additionally, Dr. Denis was a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine from 2003 to 2004.  Dr. Denis has written book chapters and been published in various peer-reviewed scientific journals. Her professional interests include eyelid surgery, marine mammal and other exotic animal ophthalmology, and corneal surgery and transplantation.  Her personal interests include spending time with her family and pets. Dr. Denis also enjoys riding her cutting horse Peppermint.


Tatiane Villar, DVM, DACVO
Diplomate ACVO

Dr. Villar received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Sao Paulo in 2012. After completing a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery residency at the University of Sao Paulo, Dr. Villar earned a position as Research Scholar to further advance her interest and
scientific studies in Comparative Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois in 2016. During this time, Dr. Villar advanced her knowledge and research interest in corneal physiology and healing, and authored peer-reviewed ophthalmology articles. In 2017, Dr. Villar was selected for a one-year specialty internship in Comparative Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois. After completion of her internship, Dr. Villar was invited to remain at the University of Illinois where she completed her residency in Comparative Ophthalmology in combination with a Masters degree. Dr. Villar became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2022. Her professional interests include eyelid surgery, ocular surface and corneal reconstruction surgeries and intraocular surgery. Her personal interests are spending time with her family, playing tennis, and playing the guitar and piano.  Dr Villar is bilingual, she speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and German.


Rachel
Veterinary Nurse and Office Manager

Rachel has been in the veterinary profession since 1997, and with Animal Eye Associates since 2004.  She is also a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator and enjoys wildlife rescue in her spare time.  Rachel also loves to travel and spend time with family, which include her cat Harry, Quaker parrot Howard Hughes and African grey parrot Jack.


Jerilyn, CVT
Veterinary Head Nurse

Jerilyn is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has been in the veterinary profession since 1987, and with Animal Eye Associates since 1998.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, camping, and going to the beach every chance she can!  She also enjoys time with her mixed breed rescue Tucker, and her Australian Labradoodle Deacon.

Veterinary Nurse

Mindy is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has been in the veterinary profession for 14 years. Mindy has been with Animal Eye Associates since 2015.  In her spare time she loves spending time with her family, her two boxers, cat, guinea pig and bearded dragon.
